Return to the spotlight for Aysha Loren, supporting Sanchez at The New Bingley Hall, Fri 17 Oct

It’s never easy when a fantastic artist chooses to step away from the microphone, especially when they have such talent as Aysha Loren. The sensational singer-songwriter from West London has been a presence in the music industry since the early 90s, lending her vocals to numerous big time artists, and got one of her first breaks supporting the massive Destiny’s Child during their first UK tour.

Despite huge success and a rising reputation, Aysha chose to take a break from the demands of the music industry to start a family, but could never quite walk away, continuing to write and building up an impressive catalogue of material just waiting to be shared with the world. After being asked to perform at a Whitney Houston tribute concert, her spark was rekindled, and she set about making a name for herself again…

Now it’s finally time for Aysha to be back in the spotlight where she belongs. As a tantalising taster of things to come, her single Keep It Like This leaked earlier this year, instantly launching her back onto the music scene as one of the most requested radio singles for nearly a month running, and was soon followed by her first new EP Back To You in July. She’s been busy every since racking up an impressive array of achievements, reaching the finals of the National UK Open Mic Competition and sharing the stage alongside the likes of John Holt, Frankie Paul, Janet Kay and Luciano.

Now she takes the stage to support heartthrob Sanchez and special headliner Etana The Strong One on Fri 17 Oct at The New Bingley Hall for one amazing night of Reggae you won’t want to miss.

The Strong One Rises Again – Etana returns to Birmingham, Fri 17 Oct

With her sensational vocal talents and undeniable charm, Etana is one of the most distinctive Reggae artists currently performing. Known to her fans as The Strong One, she is an utterly accomplished performer whose meteoric rise to stardom over the last decade has been a true story of just what unbridled talent can achieve when matched by passion and hard work. Her fourth studio album, I Rise, will be released on Tue 28 Oct, and comes hot on the tail of a solid string of hits over the last few years.

Like many greats, Etana’s talent started to shine very early. Born in Kingston, Jamaica and growing up in the eastern Saint Andrew community of August Town, she started her musical career singing along to hits on the radio. Emigrating to America in 1992 she was soon snatched up as part of larger all-female groups, but quickly began to strike out on her own, returning to Kingston to find her own voice.

After touring internationally as a vocalist for Richie Spice, her first single, Wrong Address, became an instant hit with its fusion of acoustic folk, roots reggae rhythms neo-soul vibes. Her 2008 debut album The Strong One took her around the globe as a headline act at major reggae festivals worldwide, and was nominated for a MOBO Award for Best Reggae.

Now she heads to Birmingham’s New Bingley Hall for one amazing night as special headliner alongside superstar heartthrob Sanchez as a true champion of Reggae. You won’t want to miss a moment of her enthralling performance, so make sure you’ve got your tickets – they won’t last long!
