Young Drum Academy is a skills development programme for young people and is jam packed with a series of creative workshops in Music, Spoken Word Poetry, Visual Arts (Arts and Craft), Dance, Drama, Multimedia (Film and Photography) and much, much more!

We are excited to announce that Young Drum Academy will creatively explore all things festival, with its new season of work Festival Vibez. Young members will work with experienced artists to explore what a festival means in today's society, in relation to culture, religion and identity. Young people will also contribute towards the established Social Exchange and A34 Festival this year and experiment with creating their own festival at their end of term sharing, so watch this space!
For Just 3 per week or 30 per term you, or your child, can enjoy as much or as little of the artistic sessions Young Drum Academy has to offer. A one-off 10 registration fee does apply for each child; new members must be able to commit to most of their chosen sessions within the term.

Dance Elite and Producers Hub are unique provisions for older, or more advanced, members of Young Drum Academy to practise and develop their skills further and both groups often collaborate on events, performances and projects.
Dance Elite
This is a dedicated space for you to develop and build upon your existing skill base by rehearsing as part of a team and performing across the city. The facilitators you will work with are highly trained in Street, Break, Contemporary and Capoeira technique but you are welcomed to bring your own individual methods, moves and styles.
Producers Hub (FREE)
Here at Young Drum we have created an incubation space for young people who would like to apply the skills they have learnt in the arts by planning, organising and performing in large profile events across the city as well as their own events here at The Drum. It doesn't matter if you are interested in dance, music, drama or something else, this project will be able to accommodate to your needs, you just have to be interested in planning your own events. As part of Producers Hub, you will work with a dedicated facilitator, who is trained in the art of bringing ideas to life.
