Ty, Closer (2006)

Closer is the long awaited follow up to 2004 Mercury Prize Nominated ‘Upwards’. Since then Ty has been touring the globe, making new friends, including guest spots with De La Soul, Arrested Development and Talib Kweli. On this album Ty hits you with sharp hooks, killer bass-lines and clever wordplay, a humorous, funky and thoughtful stroll through the mind of the man himself.

Ty came to fame in the ’90s via articulate guest spots alongside the likes of Talib Kweli and Jeru The Damaja. The son of Nigerian parents, Ty was born in London and discovered hip-hop in primary school, eventually becoming a dancer. Ty’s solo rhyme debut was One Drop which launched a string of collaborations throughout the U.K on the Indie and hip-hop scene (notably with Nextmen, Unsung Heroes and Funky DL).

Make sure you join us for hit after hit delivered by the U.K’s lyrical genius. Ty will be performing tracks from his current album and back catalogue.
