Reggae Sensation Skibu Live at The Drum
EP Launch Party
On Saturday 29th January, Birmingham reggae artist Skibu will take to The Drum stage presenting his award-winning music video and his brand new Ep ‘Its Been So Long’.
Receiving rave reviews for the title track Its Been So Long, Skibu will also be performing on the night tracks such as Be Ready, The One that I Adore and Stop the Shouting.
Skibu’s musical career transpired when he returned to the stage for the celebration of Gemini Don Sound System’s 25th Birthday Party, having attained his Degree in youth work, Skibu returned to his first love of music.
From then Skibu’s popularity has gone from strength to strength, appearing live with Taurus Riley, along with performances at Derby Carnival and the first Simmer Down Festival in Handsworth Park, he was also nominated and won the Best Festival Music Video (MVSA) from The Birmingham International Film Festival 2010.
Skibu also worked with King G Mall on ‘Music Builds Bridges’, a collaboration of four non-Asian artists from 4 different countries for the record breaking charity single ‘AAojli’ (Come on in), which has had over 100,000 hits on youtube.
Joining Skibu on the night are special guests, Robbie Levi and Miss Rose Capri.
All supported live by The Friendly Fire Band.
