The Drum presents:
Shazia Mirza in Multiple Choice
Shazia has returned to her home town to present her brand new stand up show Multiple Choice. This one of a kind award-winning British comedienne returns to The Drum on Sat 27th Nov 2010. Doors open at 8pm.
Shazia’s parents did not see their daughter’s life panning out in this way. Her parents were supposed to go down the traditional arranged marriage route and find a suitable husband for their child. However, now that Shazia is nearing her late 30s, her parents have decided to leave their daughter to find her own suitable partner! With no dating experience and with a limited understanding of the male sex, Shazia discusses the sensitive subject of modern relationships.
Her new show presents the world of a 30 something Muslim female looking for a husband and possibly love, but what is the likelihood of this happening?! Multiple Choice explores the highs and lows of 21st century dating and all the extra baggage that goes along with it. Shazia shares her deepest and darkest dating secrets in her latest full-length show. This born and bred Brummy is known for her “laconic one-liners which represent something unique in modern history” The Guardian.
Judge for yourself what Shazia’s chances are of finding a future hubby. Find out how Shazia’s parents, who had an arranged marriage over 45 years ago, are still together and going strong. But be warned, her crude and overtly controversial comedy will have you in fits of hysterics. Having being listed as part of the top 20 Muslim Women’s Power list in March 2009, you cannot doubt Shazia’s growing success, as she is like no other female comic out there.
So join The Drum for a night of unabashed hilarity!
