DISCOUNTED THEATRE TICKETS FOR RESIDENTS OF LADYWOOD

The Drum announced the launch of a scheme offering discounted theatre tickets for the residents of Ladywood. “As part of our 10th Anniversary celebrations and in recognition of our commitment to providing opportunities for diverse communities to access arts events, The Drum is delighted to announce that this autumn, we will be offering residents who live in the Ladywood district reduced price tickets for selected theatre, dance and spoken word performances taking place at The Drum” said Jennie Gentles, Director of Communications at The Drum. The scheme, entitled p:ART:icipate is aimed at individuals and families.

p:ART:icipate includes a number of events you can choose from. For example, be transported to the beautiful island of Barbados in Return to the Caribbean; plus there’s a chance to see the UK’s rising emcee and actor BASHY in an urban theatre production Markus The Sadist.

If you’re more interested in spoken word or dance performances, we have the following events available at a reduced price through the p:ART:icipate scheme. These events include Write On Sister, featuring Jean Binta Breeze and Bonnie Greer, The 14th Tale, Blackheart Man and Birmingham’s very own internationally recognised dance company, ACE Dance & Music will be performing their new production Switch. You can also enjoy the wit and intelligent humour of the Asian stand-up comedian Paul Sinha who is headlining Café Masti in November.

Under the p:ART:icipate scheme, Ladywood residents can obtain reduced priced tickets from as little as £3. All you have to do to obtain your tickets is to present picture ID and proof of address to our Customer Services Team. Community organisations should contact the Customer Service Team for details on group bookings.

The p:ART:icipate scheme runs till December 2009. For more information, please contact The Drum’s Customer Service Team on 0121 333 2444.
