Get ready for a night of great live reggae music and positive, uplifting lyrics as Macka B one of the West Midlands very own international reggae stars celebrates the launch of his highly acclaimed new album “More Knowledge” on Fri 8 May, doors open 9pm.
From his humble beginnings on sound systems, Macka B has become one of the most respected reggae artists in the world, renowned for his social commentary, conscious and positive lyrics. In a career spanning over almost three decades he has recorded over seventeen albums and toured all over the globe.
Released on Birmingham label Humal records, the sensational album “More Knowledge” is the latest of Macka B’s works and was produced by the Great African. The album has received great reviews with people classing it as one of the best reggae albums released this year.
From the very first track “Greetings to all reggae lovers”, Macka B sets the pace, greeting the reggae world in over 20 languages. Featuring collaborations with reggae greats such as Luciano, Jimmy Riley and the late great Justin Hinds, the pulsating hypnotic beats and powerful lyrics are entertaining, educational and uplifting, whether it’s One Drop, Steppers, Ska, Dancehall or acoustic they are all given the Macka B “Roots Ragga” treatment.
Hot off a successful American tour Macka B will be performing with his own band The Roots Ragga Band complete with live horns section. Macka B’s high energy and very powerful live show has been enthralling fans all over the world and it is an experience not to be missed. There will also be entertainment from some of the UK’s top DJ’s on the night.
