All that Jazz is back in full swing and bringing down the house for the first gig this season is Nu-soul supremo Dwele. Dwele’s unique sound lays sultry jazz and soulful R&B over subtle hip-hop grooves, sending waves through the music world with debut album Subject and last year’s, Some Kinda, featuring the hit single I Think I Love U.

Regarded by many as a major player in the Nu-Soul movement alongside the likes of D’Angelo, Maxwell, and Music, Dwele is putting Detroit back on the map of the soul scene.

Dwele’s live performances have a reputation for oozing charisma, engaging the crowd, and just doing his thing pretty damn well. He loves the unpredictability of performing live “from night to night, something crazy always happens, and that’s what keeps me entertained. I think that’s our job; to go out and entertain the crowd, and in return if you do that right the crowd will entertain you back”.
