The Drum is proud to welcome British dance guru’s Jonzi D and Benji Reid and their thrilling double bill of hip-hop theatre Cool Rules and Fams, Sat 18 Oct, 7.30pm.
The show features two performances Cool Rules and Fams.
Cool Rules- directed by Jonzi D
Depicted through dance and theatre Cool Rules follows the hopes and aspirations of a young man growing up in modern Britain. Set against a backdrop of exploding stars and universal truths the performance uses physical lyricism with verbal dexterity to present a fierce uncomromising tale of pride fear and hope. Exploring the explosion of violence within young communities Cool Rules brings you back to gritty urban reality with a bump.
Fams- directed by Benji Reid
Fams depicts the comical journey of two men trying to work out who they are and where they’re going in life from when they meet in a hospital waiting room. The piece explores issues facing identity and modern relationships between fathers and sons. These two strangers embark on a life changing journey together and leave the waiting room as brothers. This captivating show is co-written and directed by Benji Reid.
