The Drum is aiming to  provide Children between 8-18 and Young adults aged between 16-25 an opportunity to develop practical skills while having fun and achieve an accredited Arts award.

Children and young people play vital role @ The Drum and we aim to inspire their creativity and provide them with valuable skills and experience in the creative sector.

A programme of FREE creative workshops focusing on digital media, dance, drama and vocal tuition for children & young people aged 8 – 18. Workshops focus on developing practical skills whilst having FUN. Participants have the opportunity to achieve an Arts Award, a nationally recognised qualification and contribute to the development of the programme by being involved in our steering group. The YGB steering group will meet bi-monthly from May 9th.

Between May and December 13 -18 year olds are invited to participate in The Journey of the Drum, and experience a musical journey from historical West Africa to contemporary UK through heritage research workshops, percussion sessions with African master drummers, Urban music production, studio visits and capturing the process through digital documentation.
