The Drum is embarking upon an amazing and exciting development to enable the organisation to become sustainable for the next 20 years. We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to be a part of this journey; to control, improve, develop and deliver a professional and comprehensive finance service for The Drum.

The Drum Intercultural Arts Centre is a unique venue in the heart of the country that is committed to celebrating the diversity, challenges and vibrancy of all our different cultures that make up the UK today.  The Drum receives on-going financial support from Arts Council England and Birmingham City Council.

Financial Controller:  Salary circa £30,000 F/T

You will need to have experience of preparing management accounts, controlling, monitoring and analysing financial performance, preparing monthly reports on variance, cash flow control, as well as assisting in the preparation of funding and grant applications. Ideally you will have experience of project accounting and systems/process development.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team, you will need to be a self starter, be able to work off your own initiative and prepared to get involved at the detailed level as and when required. You will need to be at least part qualified with CIMA or ACCA (or equivalent) or have substantial experience of working in a similar environment, have the ability to manage staff and an understanding of the arts sector and/or voluntary sector.  Experience of using accounting software ideally QuickBooks is also required but experience of using other systems will be considered.
