The Drum The Portrait of Ghana
The exhibition is a collection of wonderfully intimate images of life in Ghana, West Africa. They depict the vibrant life of the community frequenting crowded markets and fishing villages. The artist Serge Attukwei Clottey uses fine subtle brush strokes to capture the intense colours, which are familiar to the textiles and food of people from Sub Sahara Africa. Serge lives in the city of Accra in Ghana where he works as a volunteer for the Junior Arts Club (JAC), a grassroots organisation which supports the creative and artistic talents of disadvantaged children from deprived areas.
If you wish to purchase one of the paintings displayed, please contact Adele Cleaver (JAC) on 07772 216833 or amrc@hotmail.co.uk. Serge will donate the profits from The Portrait of Ghana to JAC.
