ZerOclassikal presents One
Amina Khayyam in ONE: a presentation of Kathak Dance.
In our beginning is our end. Time in ancient Indian philosophy has traditionally been conceived as a cyclic phenomenon, a repetitive time loop in which the beginning of the cycle flows back to its end. Through the use of costume, body, space and music, Amina Khayyam will add global influences to the ancient classical Indian dance form Kathak. Incorporating Nritta (pure dance) and Nritya (expression through narrative), the dance will take you on a memorable journey accompanied by Debasish Mukherjee (Tabla), Lucy Rahman (Vocals) and Tarun Jasani (Sarod).
Commissioned by the Musee du Quai Branly (Paris).
