First Floor presents Mummy Mafia
***Thursday's showing of Mummy Mafia will be an open dress rehearsal. Friday's show will continue as scheduled.***
Mummy Mafia is a dark comedy, revolving around the luxurious lives of yummy mummies, Jessica & Trisha. Fawning over their latest 4x4s, gloating over their hubbie’s incomes & obsessing over whichever parenting scheme they’re pilotin is the order of the day in the private school playground of St Helens. However, it all changes with the arrival of working class Siobhan & her wayward son, Cregg. In a bid to drive riff-raff out of their wealthy, Nottingham suburb for good the Mummy Mafia is born.
Fresh new comedy Mummy Mafia was commissioned by Nottingham Playhouse in April 2011 as part of their programme of developing new work. This spring First Floor Theatre will be developing Mummy Mafia into a full length play and producing a small-scale, development tour within the Midlands including The Drum in Birmingham.
Written and performed by: Rachael Young, Leah Chillery and Natalya Brown in association with Nottingham Playhouse.
Directed by Pat Garrett
Mummy Mafia is funded by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
