An ambassador of British Jazz, Courtney Pine has always been at the cutting edge of R&B and nu-fusion. His music has crossed borders and boundaries and propelled Jazz music to reach an increasingly diverse audience. With his award winning band, fusing jazz improvisation, hip hop, reggae, R&B and global beats, his live shows are an eclectic street-smart blend of tradition and technology, with retro grooves and hard sax solo’s.

No one better embodies the dramatic transformation in the British Jazz scene over the past ten years than Courtney Pine. The saxophonist heads a new generation of exciting and innovative musicians who have chosen to turn their talents to the demanding requirements of jazz in all its shapes and forms. Like many of his generation of young black UK-based jazz musicians, Pine came from a reggae and funk background. He is a dazzling performer on many instruments, notably saxophone, clarinet, flute and keyboards.
