This collection of recent works by Iraqi born Suhair Al-Khayat, forms part of the International Women’s Week celebrations. Her inspiration is taken from the Middle East, focusing on the richness of Islamic heritage and colourful architectural detail.

These mainly oil based paintings explore the fusion between the geometric patterns consistent in Islamic art and architecture, and the abstract painting techniques used in modern art. The result is a colourful explosion of opulence framed by Islamic shapes and structure.
