The Drum presents Blackheart Man
Birmingham’s international dub poet Moqapi Selassie brings an abridged version of his hit one-man show back to The Drum.The “Blackheart Man” is a term used in Jamaica to describe “the Bogey Man” and also a label unfairly given to followers of Rastafarianism. Moqapi Selassie " a Black British born Rastafarian " explores his childhood experiences of inner-city life, with humour and thought provoking commentary. A powerful, engaging performance, interspersed with poetry, monologue and song, culminating in a message about the state of society.
