Beta Mast Kalandar

Beta Mast Kalandar is a Punjabi adaptation of a hugely successful Gujarati comedy created by the late Jayant Bhatt, one of the most distinguished playwrights /actor /directors of the Gujarati stage and cinema in the 20^th century.

The play is based on the life of an immigrant family from East Africa. The parents keep the business going while indulging their wayward son and daughter, who as products of a western upbringing, live in a state of confusion trying to balance two sets of values and cultures.

This multi-dimensional compelling play displays humour, comedy and wit while imparting a lot of wisdom and understanding of two different social ethos and values, and brings to life the reality of many families that have come to make their home in today’s Britain.
