As part of Black History Month 2010, this specially commissioned exhibition by The Drum, seeks to explore the significance and interpretation of proverbs and quotations of Black historical icons as they are understood by the young people of Birmingham. Wander around the building and be inspired by the wisdom of Mary Prince, Bhagat Singh, Martin Luther King, Amilcar Cabral, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Malcolm X, Rabindranath Tagore, Frantz Fanon, Jhansi ki Rani and the many other heroes and heroines in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas whose words have outstood the test of time.
