Amit Chaudhuri is one of India's leading novelists, winner of several awards for his fiction including the Commonwealth Writers Prize, the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, and the Sahitya Akademi award. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, the first Indian to judge the Man Booker International Prize, the editor of Picador’s magisterial anthology Modern Indian Writing, and a Professor of Contemporary Literature at the University of East Anglia. Professor Chaudhuri will talk about his writing, take questions from the audience and sign books, before leaving to perform his new jazz/raag theatre composition A Moment of Mishearing with a live band at The Drum at 7.30pm the same evening.
