A Taste of Nigerian Art
The Musical Palette of Tola Wewe by Tola Wewe & Ipade Ayo by Rufus Orisayomi An exhibition showcasing the work of two Nigerian artists. With his visual songs tuned to the tenor of colourful poetry Tola Wewe builds a musical palette of paintings that peel away the often depressing garments of everyday reality, to embrace life in its spiritual intensity and encourage hope and the pursuit of happiness, beauty and courage. In Ipade Ayo (meaning happiness) Rufus Orisayomi’s colourful and geometric paintings take the viewer on a vibrant visual journey through contemporary Nigerian life through Rufus’ eyes. With screenings to tie complement the exhibition on Wed 29 & Thu 30 Nov.
