Jade, a young photographer worked as a volunteer in South Africa with Platform 2, a DFID funded scheme facilitated by Christian Aid and BUNAC which provides 10 week volunteering placements for 18 to 25 year olds who wouldn’t otherwise be able to visit a developing country. She went on the journey to experience life within South Africa, however she was really struck by the fact that the real journey only began when she arrived in South Africa.

The exhibition is simple yet very challenging and through Jades pictures and narrative she raises issues of health, education. HIV/AIDS, segregation and how these issues can often be missed by other people who journey there (i.e. tourists and football fans).
