City of Pictures – Share your photos of A34 with Some Cities

June 16th, 2014 3:30 pm

Always snapping photos? Got a good eye for a prize picture? Then grab your camera and get clicking, because we need you!

The A34 Festival is shaping up to be a fantastic day for all the family, with Musicians, Dancers, Spoken Word Poets, and much more taking to the stage! But the day’s not just about the performers – it’s your chance to share your creativity too!

The Drum is proud to be working with Some Cities, a city-wide social project inviting photographers to share their images of Birmingham with the world.

All images are hosted on a dedicated website to create an enormous collage of the places, people, music, arts, food and parts of everyday life which make Birmingham such an amazing city, including A34 Festival!

You can submit images via Twitter simply by using the hashtags #somecities and #brumfotos when you Tweet a photo. So whether you’re dancing at the main stage, taking part in a workshop, or just on your way to join the fun, snap a photo, and it might be added to the Some Cities archive!

Not on Twitter? Not a problem. You can also submit directly to the Some Cities website at www.some-cities.org.uk, or email your photos to birmingham@some-cities.com

So keep your eyes open, and it could be your photo that immortalises A34! Good Luck!

Andrew Jackson and Dan Burwood, the team behind Some Cities, have also partnered with creative, cultural, academic and voluntary organisations across Birmingham to offer training, public talks, bursaries, workshops and sharing events to anyone interested in photography, whatever their experience. If you’d like to have a chat about how you could benefit from any of these events, drop them an email at info@some-cities.org.uk – they’d love to hear from you!
