RACE 50 Exhibition

A Malcolm X quote next to a womans face

Using Malcolm X’s visit to Smethwick in 1965 and the introduction of the Race Relations Act as themes, photographers have produced portraits of members of the public (young and old), community leaders, activists, political and religious figures and business leaders, in response to the notion of race relations over the past 50 years.

Two key questions being asked “How has race relations impacted on you?” and “What does Malcolm X mean to you?”
