Youth Theatre Director required

After a series of successful productions Young Gifted Brum (YGB) is diversifying and establishing itself as a fully-fledged company, working with emerging and established theatre makers to create new work and working on the best scripts from  African, Asian and Caribbean cultures.

Our first auditions took place earlier this year and the second intake of performers will take place in September. The Director we have been working with will be on sabbatical this summer so we are seeking to recruit a new Director on a 6 month contract, May – November 2013.

You will largely work Saturday afternoons, delivering two hour workshops with additional monthly team meetings and a small amount of paid time for development. Rate of pay is £25 per hour

Ideally we seek to engage a Theatre in Education practitioner, who may be at the start of their career, or who wishes to build on their existing experience by engaging with young people from culturally diverse backgrounds and/or socioeconomically deprived communities.

Interested individuals should forward their CV to s.blackstock@the-drum.org.uk by Friday 10th May and informal interviews will take place during the afternoon of Friday 17May. The successful candidate will be required to work the following Saturday 25th May.

All enquiries should be forwarded to Sarah Blackstock Head of Young People & Creative Learning at the email above or by calling 0121 333 2400.
